The Captain’s House Falmouth is a spacious self-catering holiday home. It is a Grade II listed period house overlooking Falmouth Harbour and Carrick Roads, with views to St Just in Roseland, St Mawes, Pendennis Castle and Falmouth Bay.

This historic house was built in 1832 during the reign of William IV (the “Sailor King”), it has many superbly preserved period features including shutters on the ground floor windows, ornate ceiling mouldings, marble fireplaces in the three reception rooms and it is decorated and furnished to a high standard throughout. Walls are painted in beautiful Farrow & Ball paint colours.

Have a look at photos and more information on the upstairs, downstairs and garden.

Our holiday home has a secluded terraced garden and garaging for 2 cars and there is also off-road parking for one other car; the house is so well located in the centre of Falmouth that once you have arrived you can leave the cars in the garage for most of your stay if you want to. It rests at the crest of the rising ground behind Custom House Quay (see map on the Contacts page), and it looks down on the National Maritime Museum and Events Square which take no more than 5 mins to walk to as do many restaurants, pubs, and grocery and other shops. From Custom House Quay you can get ferries to St Mawes and other places and it is no more than a 15 min walk to both sandy Gyllyngvase Beach and Pendennis Head. Princes Quay and the market square are also no more than 15 mins walk away.
