We had a lovely week at The Captain’s House, despite the weather. We walked pretty much everywhere, exploring all that Falmouth has to offer.
Morrisons and friends - June 2017
We had a wonderful time! The house is a delight. We’ll recommend it to everyone!
Ian, Sally and family - May 2017
Absolutely magnificent. We all loved the house, the location, the historical build, the views of the harbour, a garage you can get 2 large cars in. Best of all is the decor and artwork. “It does not get better than this.”
Storeys, Ormerod, Turners - February 2016
Five siblings together on holiday, first time since 1945 (with the last time being Hastings on VJ day). Wonderful to stay at The Captain's House and feel nurtured in its comfort. It has been a lovely week. We much enjoyed our time here inspire of Storm Imogen. We were snug and warm in The Captain's House.

We really had a lovely time in Falmouth. Your house is ideal for a mixed family group with many different rooms to spread out and the weather was even kind enough for us to have a BBQ.

We have really enjoyed your beautiful home from home, so comfortable and so perfectly situated. Falmouth Week has been great and the weather Oh so British - sunshine and showers. Back next year I hope.

A fantastic Easter week in sunny (sometimes) Cornwall. Beautiful house, so comfortable and quiet. We will be back!

Lovely week + lovely house + lovely weather = fantastic holiday! Thank you.
Saul family, August 2016
Lovely stay here in comfortable, spacious and very well located house. Nice touch to have the 'welcome pack' of tea, coffee, flowers and cake! Beds were very comfortable and with good Cornish air meant very good sleep! Thanks for all the handy maps and leaflets about things to do in the area - we used them well.
What a perfect holiday 'home from home' with a visit down memory lane to our roots in Falmouth and West Cornwall. The house here was perfect in every way with space for us all, ideally situated between town and beaches, we could not have expected more!

H Perry, November 2015
Our weekend at the Captain's House was fantastic, it is such a beautiful house and in a great location. The housekeeping is clearly very efficient as the house was spotless (and I'm quite fussy!). I look forward to returning to the Captain's House in the future.
Jenkins & Macey families, August 2015
What a wonderful fortnight! Breakfast at Fuel cafe, lunch at Sea View and The Quayside Inn became our local! House fabulous, Falmouth gorgeous. Will definitely return.

I can honestly say it has been one of the most relaxing holidays I have had in the last few years. You can walk everywhere from The Captain's House, so much to do in Falmouth and the house is SO comfortable. The beds are brilliant (so important). We are leaving on the most beautiful hot day - would love to stay!
Medicoff family, April 2015
We had a lovely time at your house. It was perfect for all of us from 9 - 81 years old!

For our first visit to Falmouth, we have had a wonderful time, and this home is a wonderful setting to stay and relax, and all the extra touches. Many thanks

The Captain's House is a lovely, spacious property with a nice outside area. It is really well located for walking into town as long as you don't mind a short uphill return! The owners have decorated it nicely and it is very well appointed. We arrived to some lovely fresh flowers, a nice saffron cake and everything you need to make a hot drink - a really nice welcome! Both bathrooms are big but the only shower is in the main bathroom, and the only bath is in the en suite. This wasn't a problem however, even when there were 6 adults in the house. The bedrooms are all large and the beds and bedding were all comfortable. If we ever go back to Falmouth we will definitely consider booking The Captain's House again - thank you Carol & Mark!
Diane, September 2014
We had a wonderful time staying at the Captain's House, perfect size and location for the 8 of us. The garden was a perfect size and the BBQ was great in the sunny evenings, we will definitely be visiting again!

Thank you for a gorgeous stay in Falmouth. The house was perfect and suited us entirely – we loved staying in your beautiful home and will recommended it to anyone who asks.
Sarah, September 2014
We had a lovely week in the Captain's House in September. We were a mixed group of friends and family, and there was more than enough room for us all to relax. The house was clean and nicely presented, and, importantly, was comfortable to live in. The house is well situated for both the town, and public transport, and we made good use of ferries, trains and buses for days out. The uphill walk home helps to work off the calories consumed in the multitude of nice places to eat and drink. We'd definitely recommend the house for anyone planing a holiday in Falmouth.

We had a wonderful holiday in Falmouth and the house was brilliant and was particularly enjoyed by my down syndrome grandson who enjoyed the freedom of wondering around the large rooms and kitchen. The House was very central to the centre of Falmouth and to the nearby beaches which did enable us to park the car up for the week apart from the couple of outings that we made.
Willis', August 2014
We had a wonderful week. The house is lovely and the town is a delight. Good eating and drinking, with long walks to (hopefully) walk it off!
Marshall family, August 2014
We stayed at Captains House in Falmouth for the Tall Ships Regatta at the end of August. It was perfect in so many ways not only its proximity to all the events that were going on but the house itself was gorgeous. We had our teenage children with us and due to its location it was perfect for them to stroll back and forth to town. There was so much going on that they were kept busy for the whole time. The 4 comfortable bedrooms were beautifully decorated and the beds had lovely cotton sheets. The lovely terrace garden was perfect for a quiet cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening. Amazingly considering how close we were to all the action it was incredibly quite. Having a garage was an extra bonus, meaning we didn't need to worry about parking.
Kathryn and family from Texas, July 2014
We spent 2 weeks in Falmouth at The Captain's House and had an absolutely fabulous time! The house was perfect for us, (including 3 kids & grandmother) the pictures on website don't do it justice, it is really beautiful. It was appropriately furnished, had nice bed linens and felt high-end. Gorgeous views of harbor from front 2 bedrooms. We arrived to fresh flowers, Cornish tea and scones, it was very welcoming. You can tell the owners have thought about small details and their guests. The location is very convenient. It was great to have a garage for the car, but we could walk to waterfront, to town and shops, ferries and even to the beach. My kids loved the freedom to walk around without us and were always up for a run down to Tesco. Just an ideal location! We will definitely return on our next trip to England.

The Captains House is a delightful holiday home for a family or group of friends. It is only 10 mins walk from Falmouth Town station or shops, and has a garage and plenty of parking space. It is a beautifully finished & furnished house with lots of space. The beds were very comfortable and two of the bedrooms at the front of the house have fabulous panoramic views of the harbour & Pendennis castle. The Terraced garden is a real sun trap and well set out with garden furniture for eating outdoors or relaxing. There is plenty to do in the area for all age groups. I would love to live in a house like this with lovely big rooms - it is a wonderful summer holiday home but would also be a great family Christmas or New Year venue!
Geri, May 2014
We stayed in the wonderful Captain's House for a weekend in May and it was just fantastic. It was my first time to visit Falmouth and this house was just the perfect location for us. The house is amazing - wonderful period features, spacious rooms and yet really homely. It had all the facilities that I would expect and more besides; the attention to detail puts it above other properties we've stayed in. I could have happily stayed there forever - but the amazing views from the house and the really useful local information that's provided in the welcome pack, lured me outside to explore Falmouth, which is just a stroll downhill away. It really was a magical weekend and we'll definitely return to the Captain's House.
Fiona, May 2014
I went to Falmouth for a weekend with friends not sure what to expect. Both the Captains House and Falmouth exceeded my expectations. The house is very well equipped and furnished to a high standard and it feels as though the owners have put a lot of love into the property. We had gorgeous weather so could sit in the well appointed garden before supper as well as enjoy a ferry trip across to St Mawes and a super walk along the coast during the day. The view from the house is really good as there is so much to look at and I always like to see the sea!! We enjoyed going to Dolly's for cocktails and mooching around the shops in both St Mawes and Falmouth. We packed in as much as one can in a weekend and would definitely recommend the house for a visit! Hope to go back soon.
Cathy and family, February 2014
We arrived in Falmouth late Friday evening and were delighted that the house was ready and inviting. The Captain's House has all the mod-cons yet has all the traditional features giving us the impression that we were in a "homely" stately home. The house has a magnificent view of the harbour and has excellent parking facilities, located only minutes away from the centre of Falmouth town with its lovely selection of unique and eclectic shops. We were holidaying with our two teenage sons (aged 16 and 13) who loved it. We took the ferry across the River Fal to St Mawes. We walked along the coast and saw packs of seals basking in the sun and a kestrel wind-hovering. There are plenty of sandy beaches within minutes walk, ideal for surfers. We breakfasted at Fuel, had fish and chips and local ales at The Front Pub, and had gin teapots at Dolly's Tea House. The Maritime Museum is a MUST (we visited it twice). This was certainly one of our most favourite holidays and we have already recommended it to our friends and family! We hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
Joanne, January 2014
We stayed at The Captain's House for the New Year week with a couple of friends and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was very comfortable with a warm decor which made us feel at home instantly. It was clean and had everything we needed (including a dishwasher!). We enjoyed cooking in the large kitchen and had lots of fun nights around the dining room table. It was a short 5 mins walk into the centre of Falmouth where we found all the shops we needed including the best fish and chip shop we've ever been too (it was above a pub). Overall a brilliant stay which we would highly recommend.

We spent a lovely weekend at this Home to Home in Falmouth. The Captain's House is packed full of character with a cosy lounge and large dining room off the modern kitchen. With panoramic views from upstairs the house is perfectly situated close to town and a short walk to the centre of Falmouth and the picturesque Pendennis Point. A first class destination for a visit to Historic Falmouth.
Patrick & Theresa September 2013
We had a great week here doing very little. It really is a lovely house and very comfortable and we loved the location. As advertised, we didn't use the car after we arrived and everything was so close. Looking down on the town and the harbour was really cool too.
Celia and Martin Turner October 2013
We much enjoyed our short stay in the spacious comfortable “Captain’s House”. The house is beautifully furnished, is delightfully quiet and well situated for walking down the hill to the harbour shops pubs and cafes.
